Who would score for Everton without Lukaku, Kone & Barkley?
Or for Stoke without Bojan , Arnautovic & Shaqiri?

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
It's irrelevant Sven.

I reckon they'd both still try to beat the worst teams in the league though.

We have more points than Southampton in the last 6 games don't we?

Prior to yesterday they were in the bottom three and bottom of the form table.

Gutted?

For those who are hyperventilating too much how do you think Everton and Stoke have played this season?

Now consider we have the same amount of points as them.

Next how many do you reckon they'd have if they'd had the following missing for the last 6 games ....
Stoke: Bojan Arnautovic Shaqiri Afellay Shawcross
Everton : Lukaku Kone Barkley Delefou Mirallas Stones

On what basis are Swansea one of the two shittest teams in the league?

It's not nonsense. Not every side has their best three attacking players to come back. It's nonsense to think we are going to turn over teams every week.

I don't expect us to win every game but I don't expect us to be desperately clinging onto a point against the two shittiest teams in the league.

''We are still nicely placed in the league and in a good position to have a good run in the second half of the season''

You can say that about pretty much every club, so let's dtop that nonsense.

The Allardyce era would have seen us capitulating in the last five minutes. The last few games have been dull, particularly Swansea and Villa, as we have lost real creativity in midfield and someone to put their foot on the ball and dictate play. So yes, we've been on the back foot and the defence have held up well, that's why we haven't lost. The players that we have in midfield and upfront can do better , by being first to the second ball and using their brains.
One thing I want to know is why we don't seem to leave anyone upfield when defending corners. I'd leave Zarate , Antonio, or Lanzini, when he is back up there.

Most shocking thing about going to the match was the appalling catering facilities. It was like being at some league 2 shit hole! The revenue they must lose because people can't be arsed to queue must be thousands.

We weren't great but should have had a stone wall penalty to nick it at the end. Get our best players back, win three on the bounce and back in top 6!

Good goal from our leftback poor penalty shout for theirs.

A reasonable point away from home again and didn't expect us to concede either, the goalscorers will return soon.

Alex banbury , I'm inclined to agree , we are a very average side with our best team out , to still get points is a bonus with this team .

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
People seem to expect us to be rolling over teams in the bottom half of the table. It's not going to happen, particularly with three of our best attacking players out. To my mind the fact that Billic has retained some of the solidity of the Allardyce era is no bad thing. We are still nicely placed in the league and in a good position to have a good run in the second half of the season if we can have a better run with injuries.

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Ogbonna made a mistake, everyone does.
The only player who kept us a point was Adrian
Villa had several very big opportunities turned down by him, and ofcourse some poor headers from Gestede.

We were lucky, and that performance wont do against Soton tomorrow

Who is talking about last season because I'm not so why bring it up? This is a different time with a change of manager and some players changed.

I have called the game as I saw it, as simple as that. Some saw it like me and others did not.

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I thought we were doing OK up until the idiot gave away the penalty. Stop blaming the ref. Ogbonna, a player used defending at one of the biggest clubs in Serie A allowed himself to be being mugged off. His fault no one else's. After that Villa were well up for it.

The penalty for us that IMO should have been given was right in front of the linesman, I'm not sure the ref would have seen it but the linesman certainly should have.

Don't see the massive problem really. Any away point is good, no matter what.

As for home games, Stoke have barely lost a game in the last few months. WBA beat Arsenal drew with Spurs either side of our game. Everton at home, a draw is decent.
